Beautiful bergerie, 2 gîtes, tranquil setting

This spacious renovated eighteenth-century bergerie is located in the picturesque rural Campan Valley, Pyrenees NP. It comprises of 2 independent gîtes (Arbizon-3 bedroom and Tourmalet 2-bedroom) & is the perfect base for a large group or extended family gathering. It's position is well suited for sports lovers, with Tour de France cols, hiking, and skiing (15 min drive to Grand Tourmalet ski resort) on the doorstep. Also, ideal for visiting market towns, thermal spas & relaxing. The village of Sainte Marie de Campan is 3 min drive away & the spa town Bagnères-de-Bigorre 15 min.

The Space 

This spacious holiday rental is the perfect base for a large group or an extended family gathering, as if offers plenty of space with it being made up of 2 independent gîtes, which sit adjacent each other.  

Each gîte has it's own access, a fully equipped kitchen and lounge area. Additionally, the the 3-bedroom gîte has a spacious downstairs area and can comfortably sit 10 people in the dining area and lounge. This later space, offers lots of seating and the efficient wood stove, provides an inviting space to relax (wood supplied free of charge).

All 5 bedrooms can be configured as super-king or twin rooms and can sleep a maximum of 10 adults. The rental cost includes quality bedding and towels supplied, ready for your arrival. Baby equipment can be supplied upon request. 

This traditional building has thick stone walls and inside, it's a blend of traditional features and modern quality comforts, including a high-speed fibre internet connection. Both gîtes are also equipped with smart TV's and have Netflix and Apple TV.

Outside, the gîtes sit on 8 acres of land in the rural Campan valley. This section comprises a large lawn, grazing fields, an impressive old walnut tree and a babbling stream running down the property's side, making a very tranquil, relaxing setting.

ARBIZON - 3 bedroom gîte

INSIDE

Downstairs you'll find:
*A large open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. The generous seating area in the lounge is centralised around an efficient wood-burning log stove. 
   * Dining table seats 8 (can be extended to sit up to 10 people).
   * Kitchen with a large gas oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, raclette & fondue equipment. Plus a new quality coffee to bean coffee machine. Some basic cooking supplies are supplied, such as oil, pepper, salt, spices, tea, coffee beans and milk.
 

Upstairs you'll find:
* 3 generous sized bedrooms, all able to be set up as super-king or twin rooms. The main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, and the other two bedrooms share a bathroom.
  * Enjoy quality cotton bedding, mattress and topper for a restful night's sleep. A dresser, wardrobe stand, hairdryer, mirror, bedside cabinets and lights complete this room.
  * The bathrooms all have a rainfall shower/handheld combo outlet, sink and toilet. We provide ample fluffy quality towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap and toilet paper.
 

TOURMALET - 2 bedroom gîte

INSIDE
Downstairs you'll find:
* A fridge, freezer, cooker, dishwasher, raclette equipment and a new quality bean to cup coffee machine in the kitchen. Some basic cooking supplies are supplied, such as oil, pepper, salt, spices, tea, coffee beans and milk.
* Dining table seating four people.
* Comfortable lounge with two large leather couches surrounding a log burning fire. Perfect for cosying up around on a chilly night. Firewood is supplied free of charge.
    * A generous sized wall-mounted new smart TV with Netflix.
 

Upstairs you'll find:
    * The front-facing bedroom views the lawn/stream and enjoys the daytime sun. This room can be set up as a twin or super-king bedroom. Enjoy quality cotton bedding, mattress and topper for a restful night's sleep. A dresser, wardrobe stand, hairdryer, mirror, bedside cabinets and lights complete this room.
   * The back-facing room has pretty rural views down the valley. It can also be set up either as a twin or super-king room with quality bedding, mattress and topper. A dresser, wardrobe hangers/hooks, hairdryer, mirror, bedside cabinets and lights complete this room.
   * The bathroom has a rainfall shower/handheld combo outlet, sink and toilet. We provide ample fluffy quality towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap and toilet paper.

OUTSIDE
    * Enjoy eating breakfast/lunch in the morning/afternoon sun on the terraces at the front of the gîtes. Each has its own bbq for your use.
 * A picnic table and hammock are located in a higher area of the large lawn. Here you have beautiful views of the neighbouring mountains (rising to 1600m+ altitude) to the side and behind the gîtes.

Guest access:

* 2 gîtes - Arbizon and Tourmalet 
    * All 2 private terraces with outdoor dining furniture, parasol, sun loungers and gas bbq's.
    * Large garden with picnic table, sun loungers and hammock 
    * Inside a separate utility room there is a dedicated bike storage space (up to 6 bikes). Plus a washing machine, iron and ironing board for guest use.
    * Parking for up to 5 cars.
 

Other details to note:

* Your hosts (Natasha and Kev) live in the barn next door with their twin babies.  This building faces a different direction from the gîtes and is behind a row of trees. It has a separate garden, terrace and parking area.
  * During your stay, you may encounter our friendly cat Rasta as she likes to explore and say hello! We keep our dogs away from children and in our fenced garden.
  * A nice restaurant is located just 400m from the gîte. This is open during the tourist season.
  * Sainte Marie de Campan is the closest village. This is a 3-minute drive or 15/20 minute walk. Here you'll find a mini supermarket, bar, bakery, pizzeria and another local restaurant.
